How Our Free Delivery Service Works for You

Our standard service aims to deliver your new refrigeration unit directly into your premises, ready for you to position. We handle the logistics of transporting large, heavy equipment so you don’t have to. Have you considered how much a specialist courier for a bulky cabinet could add to your setup costs? Our inclusive service is designed to eliminate that financial worry. However, a successful delivery relies on suitable access, so this service is offered wherever it is physically possible, subject to our terms and conditions.

Defining Our Free Delivery Zone

We provide complimentary delivery for all our commercial fridges and freezers to any business located on the UK mainland, up to and including York. This covers the vast majority of commercial centres in the country. Nonetheless, for deliveries required north of York or to locations outside the UK mainland, such as the Scottish Highlands, Islands, and Northern Ireland, an additional charge will apply due to the extended transport requirements. We ask that you contact our team directly for a specific quotation for these areas.

Planning Your Delivery: Timelines and Payments

Coordinating the arrival of new equipment is vital for any business operation. We aim to provide clear timelines based on your payment method to help you plan effectively.

Payment Methods and Despatch Times

To ensure a secure and transparent transaction, we offer two main payment options, each with a corresponding delivery estimate from the point of cleared payment.

  • Bank Transfer: The estimated delivery window is between 5 to 8 working days.
  • Card Payments: The estimated delivery window is between 8 to 10 working days.

Please note these are working day estimates and are subject to terms and conditions.

Extended Delivery Areas

Logistical planning for certain routes requires more time. For our customers located in areas north of York, Leeds, and Blackpool, the delivery timeframe can take approximately 2 to 4 weeks. This allows our transport partners to schedule consolidated and efficient routes, ensuring your equipment arrives safely.

Special Circumstances and Potential Charges

Some locations present unique logistical challenges that fall outside the scope of our standard free delivery. It is important to be aware of these potential scenarios.

Challenging Delivery Locations

Access restrictions are common in certain commercial environments. Delivering to locations such as train stations, large shopping centres, and airports often involves navigating specific security protocols, time-slot bookings, and access limitations. Deliveries to these sites may incur an additional charge of £300 +VAT to cover the complex planning and potential waiting times involved.

Out-of-Hours Service

We understand that a daytime delivery is not always convenient. If your business requires a delivery outside of standard operating hours (e.g., evenings or weekends), this can sometimes be arranged. This specialist service may also incur a charge of £300 +VAT.

Preparing Your Premises for a Smooth Delivery

A successful delivery is a joint effort. Taking a few steps to prepare your premises will ensure the process is as smooth as possible and avoids any unexpected complications on the day.

Ensuring Clear Access

Before our delivery team arrives, it is crucial to survey the path the refrigeration unit will take from our vehicle to its final position. Think of it like moving a large sofa into a new home; you need to measure the doorways and clear the pathway first.

Too many steps, narrow or low doorways, tight corridors, or other physical barriers will prevent our team from completing an internal delivery. In such cases, the delivery will become a kerbside drop-off only. From that point, the responsibility for moving the unit inside your premises will be yours. So, a quick check with a tape measure can save a lot of trouble.

A Note on Product Specifications

The commercial refrigeration industry is one of constant innovation. In the interest of continual product development, we reserve the right to change any of the details and specifications of our products without notice. For planning your unit’s placement, particularly in customer-facing areas, it is useful to know the typical noise level. When measured one metre from the front of the cabinet, the operational noise level is approximately 68dBA.

Important Terms of Our Service

To maintain a clear and professional relationship, we have a few important terms that govern our sales and delivery services.

Removal of Old Equipment

If you are replacing an existing unit, we can arrange for the removal and disposal of the old cabinet, provided it is the same size as the new one being delivered. This service is available for a fee of £150 +VAT and must be arranged at the time of ordering.

Order Cancellations

Once an order is processed and logistics are arranged, costs are incurred. Should an order be cancelled after this point, a restocking charge of £600 +VAT will apply. This contributes to the administrative and transport costs involved in returning a large unit to our warehouse.

A Business-to-Business Contract

All sales made through Display Fridge are considered a Business-to-Business (B2B) contract. This is an important legal distinction. It means that purchases, even if made by an individual for a commercial purpose, are not covered under the Consumer Rights Act.

Our Commitment to Staff Safety

Our delivery teams are dedicated professionals, and their safety and wellbeing are paramount. We operate a zero-tolerance policy towards abuse. Any warranty or guarantee for your products will be terminated if any of our staff are subjected to verbal or physical abuse in the course of carrying out their duties. We appreciate your cooperation in ensuring a respectful and safe environment for everyone.
